Quality Time Volunteers

Tagged:
Deadline:
31/12/2014 - 12:30pm

We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible people with their own transport who are willing to give some quality time to our resident donkeys. Suitable applicants will receive training and be accredited to work in pairs on our farms in Devon, Dorset and Derbyshire - the most suitable farm for each person will be selected by our experienced trainers.

Please note there are currently no volunteering opportunities at our Derbyshire Centre due to a high number of volunteers.

Please also note that all our weekend volunteering positions are currently full.

What's involved?

Our quality time volunteers will be asked to interact with the donkeys, observing their behaviour and lead selected donkeys out for walks.

If you can spare a few hours once a week, or even once a month, your time is valuable and the donkeys will really appreciate the extra attention.

If you are interested and would like to find out more about this unique opportunity, please contact us.

We are able to accept volunteers from the age of 13, however volunteers aged between 13 and 15, will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will be asked to join them as a QTV. The reason for this is that young people vary widely in ability, knowledge and maturity and the health and safety of both our volunteers and donkeys is our uppermost concern. We are currently trialling volunteers aged 16 and 17 volunteering without a parent or guardian and we will assess each applicant on an individual basis using the criteria described above.

Please note that our staff and QTVs are not CRB checked.
