Most donkeys and mules are bought and sold at markets held regularly around the area and we try to attend as many as possible to monitor the welfare standards. Although we see many cases we would like to rescue as an organisation, we know that if the dealers know we are willing to purchase donkeys in trouble they will provide just what we are looking for, and we do not want to encourage mistreatment.
