On Tuesday 14th February 2012, Martin Clunes and Graham Cory, President and Chief Executive of the British Horse Society respectively, visited our Sanctuary situated in the foothills of the Troodos Mountains in Cyprus.

They were visiting Cyprus due to the RAF Akrotiri Saddle Club affiliating with the British Horse Society and the Saddle Club asked if they could drop in to see the donkeys.

A special Rose that comes with love

This Valentine's Day spare a thought for Rose. Just one of 2,554 donkeys being lovingly looked after by our staff and volunteers.

Rose is a 9 year old donkey who has a gentle and sweet nature. She arrived into our care in January of this year with her six month old foal and 11 other donkeys following a successful RSPCA prosecution.

We are looking to recruit a fixed term, full time, Laboratory Assistant to be based at The Donkey Sanctuary, Ireland. You will assist the Veterinary team with general running of the Pathology Laboratory and research projects, which will include running routine blood tests and faecal samples. You must have previous experience of laboratory work and have some equine knowledge.
