Milo with Lesley his foster mum

A week before Christmas last year, Milo one of our mules at Town Barton went off to his new home. We packed him a big bag of straw and hay with festive tinsel wrapped round it so he could give it to his foster owners on his arrival along with a Christmas card which stated Milo’s likes and dislikes and how he likes his bed made... we do fuss but it’s only because we care!

Madonna’s in the grove for her new pink snood!

You may have seen Madonna in our last blog posing in her true blue snood, but now she's in the grove for her new pink snood. Her son September felt a little left out so Madonna kindly gave him her blue snood... that's just what a mother would do! Now Madonna has a pink snood which she is very happy about.

Dodger and Lil on Palm Sunday

Dodger is a 10 year old donkey who lives at Town Barton. Dodger had no idea what the day was going to bring when we arrived early at work on Sunday morning. We had to try out a younger donkey this year for the Palm Sunday procession, as Philip, the pro, is now retired from his Palm Sunday duties due to his age.

Madonna's motherly love

37-year old Madonna has a little angel and his name is September. You see, all mother's love their kids and Madonna is no exception. Both mother and son are inseparable and live together with our other resident donkeys here at Town Barton Farm. There's also something else very special about September... he was born at the Sanctuary...

Hector was a very sensitive soul

Hector at Town Barton Farm

It's always a sad time for us when we have to say goodbye to an old friend. More so when their owners travel about 600 miles in a round trip to visit at least once a month... just like Liz and Dave Barrett have been doing for the past 9 years to spend time with Hector and Smokey.

There is no fitting tribute to Hector than in Liz's own words which follow.

Lottie doesn't act her age at all!

Did you like reading about Tessa... the oldest resident donkey at Trow Farm? Well, we think you'll like to read about our own lovely oldie too here at Town Barton Farm! Say hello to Lottie who will be celebrating her 45th birthday in June. She's such a beautiful mischievous donkey who doesn’t act her age at all.
